How to lower gas prices...

Zip- I know how hot it gets in Arizona (that's where you are, right?) I've lived in Arizona for 23 years. Remember that 125* F day Phoenix had that shut down Sky Harbor airport because their charts didn't say where to set their flaps for take-off and landing? Been there, done that... and I wore PANTS for it. My blood is so thin that I need to wear a coat or jacket in temperatures less than 80*F. I'm enjoying the toasty weather we're FINALLY having now. =)

Also- I do bike, and walk, and my car gets 33 mpg-- how else would I be able to just gas up my car 1-2 times in a month (even if I make side trips to Tombstone or Sierra Vista or Phoenix on weekends). =)

I think you all are forgetting one important fact.

Curu's right. Let's all move to Italy... or flood the streets so we can "row" our way to work! Haha!

Yeah, Arizona is right. Once we met the world record here at 136, but of course they didn't record it. They didn't want to scare away our snow birds. I didn't know about Phoenix having to shut down their airports though; I never watch the news or anything. But that's sure interesting.

Haha, I get chilly under eighty, but that stays until it hits sixty five. At that point and only there do I freeze to death. It's weird; I'm not cold or hot unless it's server. Anyways..off topic.

It's good that you bike and all, and with your car it can't be that bad to spend for gas. Plus Curulan's point is a great one. At least we're not spending over seven dollars.


Ugh..I still hope I never need a car though. I can't stand driving and don't like the stress I see in people who are driving.

my point was pretty much the same as Curulan's. we can afford gas right now just fine. if some of us have to buy more gad efficient cars, so be it. we are a rich country though and our free market will regulate itself if gas gets too high. we'll all start buying cars with better gas mileage. that will be where the demand is so companies will make more. right now, just looking at the figures, gas is cheap and the demand for large suvs and other vehicles is still high. it's us, the consumers, who are setting these prices. eventually if gas gets too high, it'll be our demand for more fuel efficient cars, and other such choices, that will cause our demand for gas to go down and prices to fall again.
