Ah ha! A contest!

This is open to ANYONE from any clan-- feel free to spread the word. It's run by me, but I will poll judges from the Titan RP council to determine our top 3 contestants.

The Rules:
I- No biting, kicking, or screaming. Seriously. Ow!

To Enter:
1-Completely fill out one of Titan's Character Biography Sheets.
2- Post your Character Biography in our Palace Rantings Forum

3- LINK to your Biography in Palace Rantings by posting a link in this thread. Biographies that are not linked to will not be accepted as entries.
3a- When posting the link to your character, give a brief description, post links to past RPs, or RP a descriptive example of a scene with your character (Try to keep it around 50-150 words). Entries without this will still be accepted, though it may be necessary to use in the event of a tie.

Tips:
* Fill out the sheet completely. If you have questions-- ASK!
* Look at the examples provided in the above link
* Add as much detail and description as possible. Ask a friend to read through your character biography and see if they really know what your character is like based on it.
*Make your character as realistic as possible-- "gods" are severely frowned upon. Characters with some weaknesses or character flaws are great.
*If you have a well established character, you may want to state that in your description when you post a link.
*If you are new to Titan and Titan Role Play, please start with a more basic character-- don't make yourself king of "such-and-such land" and don't give yourself superpowers or mad sword skills. DO, however, describe your potential for these skills. If you REALLY want a skill like "master class swordsmanship" or whatever, explain HOW you got to be so skilled.
*If you're describing a supernatural or occult character (Eg- Lich, Werewolf, vampire) explain the lore surrounding your character and how you got to be that way. (There will be future restrictions on such lore. At this time, there are none.)

If you already have a character biography written-- GREAT! You can still enter. Update your biography (if you want) and post a recent link to your current biography in this thread.

Judging & Scoring:
Each character biography will be judged on content and composition. This includes but is not limited to things such as:
A realistic description of the character
Detail of the character biography
Language and context (Is proper grammer used? Spelling correct?)

Biographies will be judged on a scale of 1-10 (1 being poor and 10 being awesome). Additional comments and critiques may also be posted. An average of scores for as many of the RP council who judged the biography will be taken. The winner will be the person with the highest average score of their character biography.

Judges are members of the Titan Role Play Council. Any voting member of the Titan Role Play council is not eligible to win the contest-- the exception being they do not rate their own character biography AND they must rate other biographies consistently with the other judges or give a detailed explanation as to WHY they rated the biography lower or higher. If entered, only ONE non-voting member of the Titan RP council will be eligible to win.

Time Limit: SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Since it takes a LONG time to write the biographies... this contest will go through July 2007.

Entries will be judged the week (7-days) starting Saturday, August 4, 2007.

Winners will be announced by Saturday, August 11, 2007.

Prizes: SUBJECT TO CHANGE
1st- Full color drawing of your character, complete with background (Example)
2nd- Full color drawing of your character, no background (Example)
3rd- Black and white drawing of your character (Example)

Wow... you guys are really selling yourselves short. You have a whole MONTH to write or improve your character biographies.... and you're not the judges so how can you determine who will win? Besides... you're forgetting, there are THREE prizes.

True, you can't "lose" if you don't enter... but you can't win either... AND, if you enter and don't win... you haven't really lost anything you had before... but you do earn a finished character biography =P

Heh, the irony. I've been writing the complete history about Zuka. So far I'm on chapter eight, which is where he leaves El'th'norann for Titan.

I'm currently in Tennessee, but when I get back I'll definately enter in.

Also, did you guys READ my site? It's really a little silly. But, I just wanted to enter it in for fun, since I took the time to make it. I think everyone should enter, just for kicks, and for the initiative to write a good bio.

Maybe, maybe not. I still haven't decided. Meh, maybe I'll work on something soon.

If we won a higher prize than 3rd, could we revert to a black and white drawing? I like the example you showed very much.

yeah, i had one i used on the old forums to get that medal, but over the last year i have rele transformed it into a descent biography, im made that i cant find it!

I need to update mine anyways. So I'll do that soon and get to entering.

And James, your sheet works really well, so..post it. I'd think you have a good chance.



I already have a lot of signatures..but more pretty ones are always awesome. I have a few I never finished drawing. I should do that too.

All you people saying you need to update your bios... Remember that mine isn't even finalized yet. There's so much of Curulan's history that has to be rewritten to match what I'm actually doing with him.

I haven't even finished the bio for carnelianfire... and Ebon-Ashe's bio probably needs some details added. Right now it's just a general idea. It's detailed, but not as detailed as it could be.
