Has anyone heard about the stabbing they had last week (Wed, Sept 5th) at the University of Arizona? It was in my old dorm (3rd yr of school)... I wonder which room it was in.

Apparently, there was some disagreement between roommates and the one who was stabbed to death had accused her roommate of theft and had filed a police report.

Crazy stuff makes you think...

Personally, I have a whole theory about how violence and suicides are linked to college and the whole "no one left behind" program and the sudden feelings of distraught when one goes to college and can't quite cope with the tumultuous changes as you break away from home life.

No.. I haven't. Too bad though.

But your theory sounds so fitting it's scary.

Hm. I disagree. I think these incidences happen among those who are used to success and/or have a lot of internal or external pressure on them. These are not the kids who are *saved* by the No Child Left Behind program, but those who are middle and upper class.

I hate to bring the grammar police into this serious discussion, but I do have to remind Katie that "distraught" is actually the wrong part of speech. The sentence should read "... the sudden feelings of distress when one goes to college ...". "Distraught" is an adjective.
