Eggs?!

I've seen a couple people with eggs in their signatures, announcing imminent hatchage. I'm looking at you, Curu and Gus.
I'm going to hide under the couch unless you explain these (possibly deadly) eggs. And, maybe, just maybe, I'll put you on "Plaid Alert" (the super-secret terror alert color), or maybe even "Janet Reno in a Bunny Suit Alert" (the even secreter terror alert color).
