The front of his brown robe was open, letting all who wish see his chest. Though well muscled, thick hair only let them be seen through a window of fuzz. Even if the display of his chest was rude, his posture held him properly in his chair. He had a gentle smile, but his eyes always held a hint of self elected dominance.

For now, he sat alone at a table, off by a windowless wall. It wasn't a dark corner, he disdained dark corners, but it was secluded enough. Patiently, his index finger traced the digits of his other hand, watching it with only a slight grin. He wondered when the one who would meet him would come, if the boy was brave enough to come to Titan.

..:: Standing outside the double doors, a young boy looked at them. He didn't know how this would go, but that didn't matter. His plans couldn't be hurt, but having them helped was always welcomed. This should help them. The sign above him announced that it was the Golden Griffin, a place he had heard so much about. Taking one last look into the dark sky, he pushed into the bar. ::..

..:: It only took a moment's glance to find Milton, and Blythe slipped into a chair. He spread his hands above the table calmly, the movement making the dulled gold-like embroidery on his vest like kjortel glimmer, and the black of the dressing making the little shine stand out just a bit more. He smirked at his companion. ::..

"I was slowed."

..:: Blythe leaned forward, resting his clasped hands on the table. Looking Milton over quickly, he reasoned that his dressings were acceptable. Blythe had been in so many taverns, at least now he wouldn't be annoyed. To get on the topic, he held his young eyes with the robed man's. ::..

"I've learned much, if you are interested."

With Blythe joining his table, Milton waved down a barmaid, taking a moment to order himself an ale. His voice was gentle as he spoke to the pleasant woman, but still as deep as always. When she left to get his drink, the robed man turned back to his companion, nodding at the fact that he was slowed.

It didn't really matter how; Milton had found ways to entertain himself as he waited. He learned that he wasn't too good at the card games. Milton had spoken to Blythe rarely on the way to Titan, back from Guarde. Even if he was fresh from the battles, they didn't come to his mind often.

Both waiting and wanting Blythe to go on, Milton nodded again.

..:: Blythe sighed heavily, using the common expression to show his frustration with all he had learned. The things had left him feeling powerless, and he hated it. He knew, though, that soon, he would have what he wanted, what he would always want. If he got help or not, he would get what he wanted and nothing would stop him. ::..

..:: He released the tension that was trying to grow in his shoulders, and ran both hands through his black and short hair. The oils of it always felt nice on his hands, but left it in a slight mess which stood in random locks. He thought that the slight mess added to his child like appearance, and so he was pleased with it. ::..

..:: The child grinded his thumb into the table as he explained himself, his eyes not leaving the healer's. ::..

"A bonded holy man protects it, and holds a grudge against me. Seeing as it would be unwise for me to, I'd like you to find the source of this proclivit taint. I am unsure what you like, if you want a promised return you must mention it."

..:: Blythe shrugged then, hoping that now at least the healer would speak other than for a drink. It was a good offer, and the child was willing to do many things many times for what he wanted, no matter how long it took. ::..

An older teenaged man with gray hair and no shoes emerged from the full moon's light into the tavern. Wearing his loose and seemingly borrowed clothing he quietly padded over to the most secluded place he could find, that being a dark corner nearby the child and robed man. Passing by the two his nose twitched at that of a familiar scent. With a glance he looked at the boy, sensing a menacing familiarity.

He took his seat. He had no idea what kind of place he was in, nor who any of these people were, but he was on his guard. He was sure his one sided conversations with zipcat would guarantee his understanding of those who spoke with him, but was not sure how to respond. Yes and no came naturally in head motions, and the only two words he knew of were that of his and his friend's.

A waitress came to wait upon him.

"Oy, what's a young pup like you need from here?"

The man looked at her with prodding eyes and held his face with one hand on the table.

"Cat's got yer tongue? C'mon, what can I getcha?"

The man looked at her with a confused look. She seemed to get the message.

"We have beer, ale, brew, water and meals. What one do ya want?"

The man took these words in deep thought, and responded with a light yet deep voice, "Meals?"

Beginning to tire of this one sided business order, she said, "Food. You order a meal, you get food. Got it?"

He nodded his head, saying, "Meals."

"That's what ya want, doll?"

The man nodded his head. She left him sitting there. The purse that came with his pants clanked when he moved, and so he removed it from his side and opened it upon the table. Down clanked a few coppers and a silver coin. With a riddled look the man examined these coins, poking, prodding and testing them to discover what they were.

*One of the tavern regulars approached the door and stopped to consider how long it had been since his last visit. Though he loved travel, the big lummox had picked a new home in the Titan lands and returned whenever he could. The fist day back was always the same, visit the tavern to drink, catch up with friends, and maybe meet a few new people. There was a sudden realization that hit him, it had been quite some time since he had quality ale. The thought urged him closer to the door without allowing conscious thought to interfere.

Once inside, the half-orc seemed to mysteriously appear at the bar, holding enough money to order a good 3 rounds for the house. It's not that Feng was magic, or even fast enough to appear as such, he was just so excited to be back that his body switched into autopilot to let his mind soak it all in.

The first person he saw, was definitely new to the tavern. They had the appearance of a gray haired teenager who needed a tailor and possibly a drink. Feng knew he had no ability to sew, so he decided that it would be best to offer a drink. The fully armored lummox arrived moments later, wearing his best toothy grin and holding two mugs of the highest quality ale that was kept at the tavern. Here was a potential new friend:*

"Hi! I bought a few rounds fer da 'ouse and come to see how youse is doing. 'Ere's youse first drink, feel free to lemmie know if youse needs a refill. My name is Feng, and tonight da whole place is drinkin on me!"

*When the last words had parted from the half-orc, the realization of the party sitting at the table he had passed on the way over hit him like a ton of bricks, hard. Though he gave a brief nod to acknowledge Blythe still existed, the half-orc focused on another relatively recent acquaintance with evident shock in his voice:*

"Milton? Youse is ok after all? 'Ow long you been 'round 'ere?"

The lumbering half-orc could barely contain the excitement from seeing a recent traveling companion again but did his best to hold himself steady as he awaited a response.*

His calm smile nodded with the rest of his head, and his deep voice held only a trace of dominance. Milton did his best to make it gentler, though, as he agreed to find out for Blythe. He understood mostly what the child was telling him, but knew better than to ask now. When people tried not to do or say something, Milton had no problem letting them. Not knowing just what he wanted, he let his grin grow.

"If you would agree, we can say you owe me for now."

Milton was glad that the rag dressed teen took the table behind Blythe, that way he could keep a good eye on the boy. People who had money and not clothes didn't seam normal, and so he planed to watch the teen over Blythe's shoulder. From what movements he saw, Milton reasoned that the teen either couldn't speak because of a problem, or couldn't speak because he didn't know how.

Not knowing how someone could have a silver and yet not be able to speak was hard to understand, too, and that gave Milton more reasons to watch the teen. Then, someone else passed his sight, a form he recognized well. He sighed softly, but took the opportunity to talk about himself. He didn’t like talking much, but sharing himself was fine; even if he would keep it simple.

"Only a week or two, Shumpy, and yes, I am fine."

A bit of a stall would always be good in this case, but his small grin was the same as always.

..:: His black eyes followed the teen as the filthy adolescence passed, seeing only someone who looked like they would cause no trouble. Blythe trusted that Milton would keep a better eye on the teenager, seeing as that always seamed to be something the man was in habit of doing. Blythe frowned lightly at owing him, wishing that past deeds were well enough. Still, he was desperate. ::..

"I would have thought that what I had done for you would have been enough, my friend, but I am fine with owing you for this little trip."

..:: When Blythe saw Shumpy, as he knew him, he hid his frown in a blank expression. He knew that Shumpy probably had a lot of questions, and tended to speak loudly. One thing Blythe didn't want was everyone to know of them. Or of his plans. Or what he wanted. Shumpy could be bad. ::..

..:: Even if Shumpy had helped protect Blythe against many solders, and in that had earned a small bit of respect, the child didn't want any slips. Now wanting the dirty half orc to ask anything else, Blythe was already prepared with what to say as soon as Milton had spoken, and didn't leave Shumpy any room to cut in. ::..

"I'm glad you are well, too, Shumpy. I'm sure you know your best friend well, yes? There is something new that may be trouble and we are trying to help her. So, we would appearance it if you would share what you know about your friend seeing as we haven't had time to be here these last few months. It would be a great help."

*Feng didn't want to admit it, but he knew who Blythe was mentioning in his questions, it was the only thing that the half-orc felt the "child" was ever honest about, at least with him. It never entered Feng's mind that there was only one person the they both knew, who was not currently in the bar.

The rather large fighter shifted he armor a bit as he spoke, trying to consider what it meant when he heard the words "friend" and "trouble" from this boy:*

"I gots plenty of mates, but I'm bettin' that youse want to know what Zip has been up to?" *Without waiting for a reply, the half orc continued:* "She travels lots these days, but I dunno where. Zip's always fun to travel wit though, an I likes da lil' fruit things she got lots of. Uhh, she gots a real pretty ring she likes, I dunno what its for but it's pretty. I saw her in da bar a while back, she just sat back wit a cider. I bet theres lot's of stuff, but it don't look outta place to me."

*In consideration, found at the bottom of an empty mug, Feng decided to ask the important questions, hopeing that it would provide information that would help. He also figured he may have said too much, but it was too late to take anything back. If it helped one of his mates, Feng decided it was worth the hassle anyway. After asking, he simply awaited a response without twitching a single muscle. He would help if he could, but he still couldn't trust Blythe no matter how hard he tried, and it showed through in the half-orc's voice:*

"What makes you think Zip is in trouble? If someone is comin' fer her then why ain't youse goin fer them?"

The young man merely watched with quiet serenity as the half-orc placed a drink upon the table. He said nothing, even as the half-orc left him, and was left thus with a strange, unfamiliar drink. Forgetting about his money, he first investigated the mug, and discovered that it held a liquid inside. This liquid he smelled, and it was a pungant, odorous yet filling smell.

Deciding he didn't like it, the man left the beer where it was and went back to investigating his money. He picked up the only silver he had and bit down on the coin, investigating it as thoroughly as he had the drink.

His eyes glanced to Blythe, the healer and the half-orc. Hearing zipcat's familiar name perked his ears, and they twitched with animal insight. Pretending to still be interested in his money like a dog chewing a toy, he paid his attention to the small party.

Chewing on the silver coin he found it tasted like that river he found a few years ago, and decided to gnaw on it more.

The smile grew into an uncontrollable smirk as Blythe mentioned the past deed. This was too small to repay Blythe, and so he didn't want to even offer it as a trade for the little thing he would do once the sun was up. He knew just what he would need to do, and had a good idea of where to go. Milton would repay Blythe for other things when the time came for it.

As the half orc went on with the bit of talk of his friend, Milton began to understand everything. He trusted Blythe, and now he understood what it was the boy was showing him. Now, Milton had only to help, and soon he would see what it was he was fighting for.

When the lady brought him his drink, he grinned at her eyes as he took the cup. Holding his posture again, he waited for Blythe to answer the half orc's question. Peeking again at the teen, even more questions came to mind about the strange lad.

..:: As Shumpy spoke, Blythe smiled, he knew all these things. Oh, what he knew. At times, the boy looked over to Milton; almost like saying I told you so. If everyone knew what he did, he knew that people would help. Even if some of it was selfish, his reasons were right. How right they were surprised him at times. This was one of those times. ::..

..:: Now, his thumb grinded into his other palm, hoping to emphasize his words. There was so much trouble that Blythe didn't know where to start, but he would tell enough to get Shumpy to understand why again he must be on the right side. Everyone always liked to know why they should fight. ::..

"No one is going after our friend, Shumpy. You should know well why she is in trouble, having been around her as much as I believe you are." He sighed again, not wanting to say too much. "I'm afraid she's spelled, and doomed if I can not help her. For now, I'm trying to get some help. Will you help me in this, Shumpy?"

A man walked into the bar with an angry mask for his face. His hair was frizzled and his head was bandaged from a recent blow to his forehead. Within the last hour he had been attacked, and he stormed into the bar with clothes that seem like they were just put on. He was loud, and grumbled up to the front bar, ordering a drink.

The teenager in the back shrunk down suddenly.

The man received his drink, took a stout glug and sat the mug down. Calm came over him for half a second, and then suddenly he half yelled at a waitress, "Have ye seen a gray haired boy? I have business with the lad... important business."

Luckily, the waitress that served the meal to the man was in the back washing dishes and clothes, so she could not help. Nobody else knew he was there.

The gray haired man seemed to be relieved, and laid his head to rest on the table, playing with the coins on it. His attention drifted to the food and with no hesitation it was wolfed down quickly. It was delicious.

"Just what do youse mean? I don't see folks comin' fer her, 'cept when yer around dat is."

*Feng had no idea what Blythe meant by spelled, but he was sure an outside party was involved somehow. He was getting his thoughts together when a rather upset man entered the tavern, after taking a large drink he yelled something about a gray haired man. The big oaf was already on his sixth ale by now, and didn't take kindly to the interruption in the middle of worrying about his friend.

Feng excused himself for a moment and walked over to the man, standing at full height with a very unhappy look on his face, the half-orc towered over the man as he spoke:*

"Youse look pretty beat up mister, I don't know what all da fuss is for, but I don't feel like dealing wit youse comin' in an yellin bout a lil bump on da noggin. If youse wanna come back and complain tomorrow, I'll buy youse an ale an' 'elp sort dis out wit youse. If youse wanna stay here and bellow, I'll haveta "escort" youse outside so I can get back ta business."

*The half-orc made his presence felt, by anyone watching the scene. Feng always did his best to be nice, but he was interrupted while discussing the well being of one his mates.*

The man gasped and listened to the half-orc as he threatened him. His demeanor broken, he nodded and turned back to his brew, his face pale as a ghost.

The gray haired teen relaxed fully. He was safe in this corner, now that the half-orc had saved him from any investigation. His attention returned to his coins, and he was playing with them again, still keeping an eye on Blythe and the once-raging man.

Suddenly, he lost his interest in the coins and just sat staring at Blythe conspicuously, almost with boredom. He had no idea why he did this, but he felt almost like he did when he met zipcat, only realizing also that the boy was also capable of evil.
