Why do you RolePlay?


Lets see, I RP because I think it's fun. I get to learn about these characters of mine as they go through odd situations or reveal themselves. I really value my characters so just watching them interact is great. That and getting to see other characters respond during it too is just an added bonus. It's like a very good movie that you connect with, only on a much deeper level. Not knowing what comes next and with all that struggle - it's just fun.

I enjoy reading and writing, but this isn't why I RP.

I like to RP because it lets me step out of my own skin for a moment and be someone different. I do it for the ex-cape from reality. That's also why I read. I like my life... but sometimes, it's like a vacation. =)

Role-play also helps to stimulate my imagination as I think of different "what if's" and react to things other characters have done as if I were someone else. It's challenging sometimes to make my characters do something I wouldn't do.

I've also found that text based RP really helps my writing. I write a lot better now.... and the other posters help me keep interest in my writing (something I have difficulty doing on my own).

i rp because i get to do stupid stuff that i cant realy do in real life it opens up my imagination also i get to meet alot of people bam

Hmmm...

I RP for several reasons.

First, it allows me to express myself through my characters and to see the world from a different perspective. Whereas Zuka is evil and wishes nothing more than the destruction of all living things around him, Akunosh seeks to preserve it.

However, I most see myself as Rajst. Silent, reclusive, observing, distant.

Also, RPing is a great way to get better at writing. I'm sure most of you remember the original Zuka and how I used to RP (*coughRottingRoguecough*) and how I RP now. Big difference, eh? Sure, Zuka is a bit overpowered, but I don't really care that much about his power. Besides, RP can't just be pretty fields of flowers and happiness all the time. There has to be someone out there trying to make things more interesting and challenging to other RP'ers.

Hmm...and my final reason would be because it allows me to make more friends. Yes, Zuka is quite evil and I do not blame you for hating his guts, but OOC'ly I'm a very decent guy (especially when compared to the demi-lich) and I've made dozens of friends here.
