In my honest opinion, I would have to go with Vampires.
Given the different sources of Vampires (V:tM, for example), they are very diverse. However, no matter your source, these weaknesses are always encountered.
1. Weakness to sunlight
2. Thirst for blood
3. Weakness to fire
The whole entire weakness to religious objects, stakes, and garlic are all just based off of your sources. Anne Rice, for example, made it so that any of those three that were listed above will kill a vampire for good; nothing else harms them.
Given Vamipre: The Masquerade, vamps have a HUGE variety of powers, spells, bloodmagics, and abilities that augument their already deadly skills and make them formidable in combat. Given some abilities, they can even pass off as being mortal humans.
As for the whole turning into bats and being uber-attractive...well, thats just ancient mythology, along with the crosses, holy water, garlic, and wooden stakes as being weaknesses.
All in all, though, both races have their advantages and disadvantages. It just depends on what sources you use, how you apply them to your character, and whether or not you're a good RP'er.
