Toasters toast toast, as well as bread, and various forms of cacti.

Technically, they do not toast bagels. Bagels are the colloquial name for the edible form of third level divinites; toasters are actually their engines of ascension, allowing them to progress to the next level. The toasting effects on other items are merely side-effects.
I used to have a whole bunch of titles, I think. That probably makes me better than you. Maybe.
