An Old Friend

Coming in a bit late, Eke sees KJ and his jaw drops.

Other than seeing him, he remains quiet, and sits in a corner, watching the scene unfold.

..::Searching the pained face Ariik's smile sank to a frown, he hadnt meant to make the young woman uneasy, or make her feel in the least bit akward. What was meant as a sign to let her in on the joke, make her feel welcomed had someone twisted itself into a harsh mocking gesture. Silently, and without warning, he searched the creases on her face, listened carefully to the unspoken words. Long years of clerical work had trained his senses when it came to pain, taught him the trade through the suffering of many. What had sent her into this dip? How could they assure her that no harm would come, it would be hard and would take much that was for certain::..

"Zip, from where do you hail?"

* As Ariik continued to look at her, she tried to push all of her thoughts away. She didn't know what she was thinking, this man had only reminded her of someone, but Ariik still seamed like he would be different. At least he wasn't smiling as he studied her, and it was only her face. The new question took her thoughts; she didn't know just what he was asking. *

* She assumed that he was asking about a location, and answered with that. "Well, I live in the Estate, now, with my husband." She had to keep conscious though to keep herself from twiddling her hands as she tried to know just what to say. "I used to live in the mountains; my home there sleeps now so I can't go back without waking it. I used to sleep in the forest a lot." *

* Incase he meant her original home, she mentioned that, too. "I used to live with my family, a long time ago. I don't know where they are though. I'm not going to be looking for them anymore, either, so that I can settle like I should." She summed it up as much as she could. She didn't want to think about it more and for that she had to stop talking about it. Still, she hoped that she had answered Ariik's question. *
