F. Character Overview
Akane is a lycanthrope, a weretiger, though she was not bitten by one cursed, she was born with it. Because of this she has the ability to change forms at will, from human to tiger, and a hybrid form of the two. For Akane, this is not a curse but a gift. Her senses and physical abilities are hightened even in human form, and in hybrid and animal form her strength is far greater than even the strongest tiger. With her strength and agility, Akane is a gifted warrior, but her greatest strength lies in her magic.
G. Ability
Akane is a gifted mage. Her powers focus on the creation and manipulation of fire. She has learned to focus her magic for combat use, making her a deadly adversary in battle. As a lycanthrope all her senses are hightened in any form, though in her animal forms they are moreso. Her body is also in peak physical condition, much stronger and more agile than a normal human, and in her animal form her strength and agility grows exponentially. She can change these forms at will, even under a full moon, though the urge to be an animal is much greater at those times and her feral nature becomes more pronounced. Though the nature of her curse is wild, she was trained in martial arts and zen philosophy, that helps her to control the heart of the beast inside and makes her strength into an asset few enemies can overcome.
H. Physiology
In her human form, Akane is a very beautiful woman. She stands 5'6" with an athletic body and flowing black hair that reaches down to the middle of her back when let down. From a distance her eyes simply look black, but on closer inspection they are actually a dark emerald green color. She dresses in a formal elegant style atuned to her SHangalean lineage. She keeps herself well manicured, her hair usually up in one or two buns on her head, her nails always clean and her clothes never dirty.
I. History
Akane was born in Shangala, the child of a weretiger and a human woman. Instead of fearing the cursed child, the woman planned on keeping her and raising Akane as her daughter, training her how to control her curse for the better. Fate had other plans though, and Akane was kidnapped from her mother at a young age by a group of rogues who had discovered her secret. They sold the child for her power to a crime lord who wanted to use her natural powers for his evil whims. "The Boss" had her raised and trained by the most powerful mage in his employ, who also had her trained in the martial arts and in swordplay side by side with her magical training. The mage was most impressed though, with her inate talent in the magics, and this was where most of her traing would be applied. As she grew into adulthood and completed her training, Akane quickly rose through the ranks to become the Boss's primary assassin and enforcer. Unfortunately treachery worked its way through the happy crime ring and threatened to destroy it from the inside out. Akane's own teacher and the closest thing she could call to a father, the mage who raised her, turned against the boss and attempted to overthrow his power. Unfortunately for him, he was counting on Akane to stand by his side in the battle, but instead, she chose to keep her aliegence to the boss. By this time Akane's power had grown to rival her teacher, and her strength and agility gave her the advantage. She confronted him alone, fought, and killed him. Those who joined his mutiny scattered with his defeat. While the Boss won, the attempt was enough to damage his reputation and effectively cripple his ring in the area. He decided to take his loyal followers and travel to new lands, but he left Akane behind to finish one last job. She was to hunt down and kill every last traitor that had escaped before meeting back up with the boss in his new home, in Titan.
J. Mannerisms
Akane is cool and reserved. She shows very little emotion at all times. A follower of Zen, she believes in unity and control of her emotions and will. Though in truth, her philosophy is a twisted version of what Zen actually is. She is somewhat aloof, and considers herself better than most. Above all though, she follows her own personl code of law, which is, once again, a twisted version she learned from how she was raised.
K. Properties of Choice
Monetary items have little meaning to Akane, though she does have several expensive items, they are not kept for their value but for their usefulness. She keeps swords of the finest quality, clothes of the best material that have the ablility to shift with her body. She also has ten rings, one on each finger, of a silver color, though none are of that acursed material. The rings are magical, but each does not have its own properties, instead, they all must be worn in unison for their powers to work. When all ten are placed on the wearer's ten fingers respectively, they form a bond with their host, their magic coursing into the veins and through the entire body acting almost as a magical monitor. When the wearer is hurt or sick, the magic automatically takes over, healing wounds and curing sickness and poison. The powers are limited, and work more like an enhanced immune system than an automatic cure, but combined with her already augmented healing from her condition, they make Akane nearly immune to sickness and poison and able to recover from even many fatal wounds.
L. Sociology
Akane is naturally a loner. She has never had a single friend, never loved a single person. Though her emotions are cut off from the world, she still has many skills in society, but that is truly what they are. As she was groomed in magic and war, she was also groomed in social graces and subterfuge. To her, interactions are merely necessities to achieve a goal and nothing more. The idea of emotional attachments are lost on her. She is, instead, a creature of law and order, even though her own law is of a darker nature.
