Born Toronaga Miyasan into a family of nobility, he was first a warlord chieftain, and later consolidated his power by bring all of Shangala under his power, whereby he took the title of both Royal Emperor, and Shōgun.

Lord Toronaga launched a massive invasion campaign known as the Tides of Darkness against Dragon Court's mainland in an attempt to bring the known world under his military rule.
