Triad (race)

The Triad is the collective name given the races of the original Humans, Elves, and Dwarves. These races were orginally believed to be distinct, but recent genetic research on Arda has shown them to be genetically equal, and are really part of the same species.

Members of the Triad have 49 chromosome pairs, with the first 48 being equal to those found on Earth-based humans. The 49th pair carries the distinct traits that make up the racial differences, as well as the capacity for mana manipulation.
