Common Name
Jadewik Leviathan Shaw
Jadewik, or Jade for short, was given her name by her mother. She was named after the beautiful green, Jade stone in her mother's necklace, a trinket which Jade remembered her wearing all the time. The necklace was laced together with string from a candle wick. Though her mother never told her the origins of the necklace, it was quite evident that it held great sentimental value.
Jade was given her father's surname "Shaw" upon birth. The surname originated from her Elven ancestry-- the first of whom settled in a small grove of trees outside the main elven colony. The was quite the uproar in the elven community she lived in when she was given her father's surname because her mother was human.
Her middle name, Leviathan, was a nickname that eventually embodied part of her name. Growing up, she was constantly teased and bullied. However, her human genes triggered a growth spurt that soon had her towering over her tourmenters. Revenge had been forthcoming and she extracted it with a brutish ferver. Though the teasing to her face ceased, the name "Leviathan" was bantered back and forth behind her back so much it became who she was known as and she adopted it as her middle name.

Character Overview
This is a short description of the character, usually one or two paragraphs.
Ability
This is an explanation of the character's abilities, mundane and/or magical. This section should be as long as it needs to be, but not more than two or three paragraphs. This section is also where unique or rare abilities would be described.
Physiology
As a Half-Elf, Jadewik is taller than most elves but she still maintains a slender figure. She wears knee-high leather boots that buckle on the sides. Hidden in her right boot is a small dagger. Her tight leather pants reflect the same side-buckled design as her boots and give the appearance that she was poured into them. While her pants and boots appear to take time to get in and out of, it isn't necessary for her to undo all the buckles to get in and out of her clothing. Jadewik's pants and boots started out brown in color, but many have become stained red by blood.
Atop Jadewik's buckled pants is her belt. The belt is of fine craftmanship. It was originally a plain, leather belt, but over the years has been embellished with steel plates and evenly spaced fingerbones coated with steel, and a small, molded metal skull on the front. She wears elbow length gloves, the inside of which is metal lined and padded to protect her arms during combat. A long, sleeved burgandy jacket covers her torso and is tucked into the sleeves of her gloves. The torso and shoulders of the jacket are also metal lined and padded to deflect blows. A burgandy cotton hood and mask complete her ensamble. Beneath her hood, she hides long, red-brown hair which frames her face and exposes her piercing green eyes.
Some say she wears the hood to mask a hideous visage, but all agree that the two short swords which she wields are the most lethal article on her person. The short swords (detailed description forthcoming in Properties of Choice section) are strapped to her back in two leather sheaths embroidered with magical runes.
History
This section describes a character's complete history, kept up-to-date. Players should keep in mind that the character template is not necessarily considered common knowledge in-game, so the information contained is not necessarily known to other characters.
Mannerisms
This section describes in detail how the character acts and thinks. This section is separate from the Character Overview.
Properties of Choice
Fire and Brimstone
Fire and Brimstone are Jadewik's two double-edged short swords. They are considered the most lethal article on her person-- due to the magical properties of the blades and the finesse with which she wields them. The blades are stored in protective sheathes, which Jadewik has strapped cross-wise to her back.
Origins
- Fire- Fire was Forged from a mixture of lava and steel. Theory indicates the blade will return to molten lava if it ever melts (see abilities below). The sword was forged somewhere on the island of Toa. Rumor had it that the volcano on the island required the traditional "blood sacrafice" or it would erupt destroying everything in its wake. The concept of the blade was inspired by ancient inscriptions on the wall of the volcano detailing the story of an erruption due to a failed blood sacrifice. In the inscription, it detailed the belief of the natives that the lava itself had an unyielding thirst for blood. Arcatoothas, a sinister wizard looking for his claim to fame, stumbled upon the inscription. Believing the story of the lava to be true, he spent years researching its properties, trying to find a way to harness the lava. His work was deemed madness by his peers, but he persevered and finally created his opus-- Fire. Sadly, constructing the blade weakened him substantially and he was consumed by his own creation while affixing the blade to the hilt. Years later, another resourceful wizard made the sheath, which offers further protection for the bearer of Fire. Jadewik came into posession of the blade when she traded a walking stick to an old man who seemed eager to get rid of it (with some hasty advice on the side as to how it should be wielded). The old man was most pleased with the trade.

Abilities
- Fire- Fire is not a sword made of fire. It does not glow, shine, or sparkle. It cannot set things ablaze if it is simply picked up and swung. Fire is a blade that was crafted to burn so hot that it can sear through flesh and bone as if it were paper, and it will cauterize any wounds that it inflicts. As the blade is used to cut flesh, the flesh fuels the powerful lava within Fire. The more flesh the blade cuts through in a period of time, the hotter the blade becomes. Once the flames inside the blade become superheated (this is only after extensive use), the enchantment has to release the excess heat or the blade will melt. Then, and only then, does the blade burst into flame. If Fire is used to excessively cut flesh and bone once it is ablaze, it will eventually melt-- becoming too powerful to be contained by any enchantment. At this moment, it becomes a threat for the person wielding the blade as up to the moment of melting, the sheath and hilt of the sword will protect the wielder from harm. The inner flames in Fire do cool down when the blade is not being used to cut through flesh and bone. Fire can be used as a regular weapon.
- Brimstone- To anyone without an affinity for Earth, the sword would be considered useless. It can be wielded by someone of another magical affinity, but the magical properties of the blade would not work and the sword would feel off balance to that person. Upon inspection the "non-Earth user" would see Brimstone is, in fact, perfectly balanced. To someone with an Earth affinity, like Jadewik, the sword is a powerful weapon. The Earth affinity of the bearer awakens the magical properties of the blade giving the user the ability to easily cut through hard substances such as steel, iron, metal, diamonds and other rocks. This magical property is, however, limited to non-living elements. Brimstone can cut flesh, but it cuts through flesh like any other blade would cut.
- The Leather Sheaths- The sheathes, embroidered with magical runes, in which Fire and Brimstone are lovingly ensconced when not in use have magical properties as well. The magic embroidered on the sheath prevents the blades from burning through or turning the sheath to stone. They also protect the swords from damage and protect the bearer from the swords. Without the sheaths, Fire and Brimstone would surely consume the user.
